October 11th, 2025 Timelapse
Well, October 11th, 2025, wasn't exactly what you'd call a day at the beach. The nostalgic gloom of fall weather was in full swing. The morning kicked off with a steady diet of overcast skies that didn't let up all day, hitting us with a solid 100% cloud cover. The surface wind was loafing along at a sleepy 5.3 mph, but don’t be fooled, it picked up its pace a touch in the afternoon to 6.5 mph. It was the kind of day where you’d better have packed your favorite sweater, as the temperatures decided to play it cool, fluctuating between a nippy 47.3°F and a slightly less frosty 55.0°F.
The clouds chose to play the long game, with their coverage dropping to a deceptive 47.2% in the evening, before rallying back up to a dominant 92.8% at night. Despite the cloud layers’ penchant for drama, the wind patterns kept a steady head, maintaining consistency across atmospheric layers. As the evening rolled in, the wind eased back down to a mellow 5.8 mph, before dropping to a whispering 4.1 mph at night. With an average cloud cover of 87.8%, the sky was more covered than a potluck dish at an outdoor picnic. The day did, however, manage to squeeze in a shy 0.3 hours of sunshine, just to remind us it was still there. Despite the semblance of consistency, the weather did manage to drop a smidgen of rain on us—0.19 inches, to be precise. Not enough for an ark, but a decent day for ducks nonetheless.
