On October 17th, 2025, things started out on the gloomier side. An average temperature of 51.6°F didn't exactly scream tropical paradise, and the morning was overcast with cloud cover averaging at 70%. The surface wind was a bit on the lazy side too, only averaging at 4.5 mph. The morning seemed like it was out to prove that cloudy isn't always a synonym for gloomy, though, because even with all this overcast, we still managed to squeeze in 7.9 hours of sunshine.
The afternoon saw a few changes. The wind apparently had a cup of coffee, perking up to 7.7 mph on average, and even reaching a whopping 16.0 mph aloft. The clouds must have gotten the memo because they started to clear, reducing the cloud cover to an average of 49.8%. So, from an overcast morning, we transitioned to a more airy afternoon. But as the sun called it a day at 17:22, the clouds made a rather dramatic comeback, with the night sky taking 'overcast' to another level at an average cloud cover of 74.9%. Guess those clouds were night owls. Despite these fluctuations, the wind conditions remained pretty stable throughout the day. So, all in all, October 17th was kind of like a weather mood swing - starting gloomy, brightening up, then ending on a cloudy note.
