October 19th, 2025 Timelapse
On October 19th, 2025, the day began with an attitude - overcast and blustery. The early morning wind, blowing at an average of 9.8 mph, seemed to have some sort of quarrel with the 70.7% cloud cover that dominated the sky. But as the day wore on, the wind got gutsier, picking up to 13.3 mph in the afternoon. Maybe it's just me, but it seemed like the clouds didn't appreciate this gusty showoff - their cover dropped to 45.5% by noon. The temperature stayed pretty much consistent, ranging from a chilly 45.5°F to a slightly less chilly 57.0°F, with an average of 51.4°F throughout the day. Seems Mother Nature couldn't decide whether she wanted to put on her winter coat or not.
As afternoon mellowed into evening, the wind seemed to have made its point. It slowed down to a more manageable 6.8 mph, and the rebellious clouds increased their cover again to 66.5% by nightfall. The clouds must've felt pretty triumphant to have the last word in their little tiff with the wind. The wind aloft was also consistently faster than the surface wind by about 7.1 mph throughout the day, as if trying to show its surface companion how it's really done. All this atmospheric drama resulted in a bit of rain, with precipitation measuring 0.32 inches. In the end, with an average cloud cover of 56.6%, it was an overcast day, but with enough sunshine hours (7.7 to be precise) to remind us that every cloud does have a silver lining.
