On November 14th, the weather was as persistent as a door-to-door salesperson. The day was cloaked under an almost unbroken cloud cover, averaging at a stubborn 98.8%. The morning started with a whopping 99.8% cloud coverage, giving the sky the appearance of a gigantic gray canvas. As the day progressed, you couldn't tell the difference between morning and afternoon, thanks to the clouds refusing to budge. The consistency was so impressive that the afternoon saw a textbook 100.0% cloud cover. The clouds seemed to have a slight change of heart in the evening, but managed only to drop to a still-impressive 96.5%. It was like nature's own grayscale filter.
The wind, on the other hand, was more of a gentle giant, breathing rather regularly throughout the day. The surface wind, which averaged a tame 7.2 mph in the morning, showed a slight pep in its step, hitting 7.8 mph in the afternoon. It then decided to mellow down to a leisurely 5.7 mph in the evening, and by night, it was down to a whisper at 4.6 mph. Interestingly though, the wind patterns remained consistent across atmospheric layers. With a speed difference of 6.3 mph between the surface and 100m above, it's safe to say that the clouds were in no hurry to clear up. The temperature ranged from a nippy 47.3°F to a more agreeable 54.5°F, averaging at 50.9°F for the day. And while the day's precipitation was a mere 0.07 inches, it felt like the sky was giving a standing ovation to the consistent clouds and wind. A bit of a slow day, weather-wise, but then again, with clouds and wind like this, who needed a soap opera?
